First and last shots

Jake and Del both were privileged to visit their doctor on Thursday. For Del, it was a two month check up and the first in a series of shots. For Jake, it was the last in a series of shots (for a while.) Jake was not pleased at all and no form of bribery (lollipop or mint) could appease the pain he felt, not even Harry Potter band-aids. There was a cherry-picker outside in the parking lot that somewhat made him happy. We went to Eric's for dinner and video games and he brightened up then. But I feel he will be skeptical the next time we head to the doctor's office. It seems like it would be a win-win situation, for kids, parents, and nurses, if doctor's offices had "laughing gas" for these "special occasions" once children reach an age when they understand the pain shots cause.

Otherwise, both boys are doing very well. Del weighed in at 11 pounds and 22 inches. Jake at 32 pounds and he grew one inch in the last 6 months.

I totally have that beat. I'm like 6'1" and 210. Tell those boys they got a long way to beat Uncle Josh.
